Job Description
The Junior Sales Associate plays a critical support role to the Charleston Showroom Manager, while progressively developing their own sales portfolio. This position is designed as a structured growth role, with a clear path toward promotion to Sales Associate and Senior Sales based on performance and mastery of core responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
Provide day-to-day sales support to the Showroom Manager, including:
- Order entry and processing
- Payment collection and documentation
- Order status updates
- Coordination of shipping and delivery
Organize and Merchandising in the Showroom:
- Maintaining a tidy and well-stocked sample room across all product categories
- Order sample replenishments
- Day to day showroom pulls for in person sample requests, as well as sample requests called or emailed in from territory clientele
- Restocking showroom office supplies
- Daily merchandising initiatives such as displaying new inventory, straightening displays, updating wallcovering boards, and cleaning the displays
Serve as the primary in-showroom point of contact for immediate client needs when the Showroom Manager is out on client visits including:
- Price checks and stock availability
- Product reserves
- Vendor communication
- Local, in-person client service requests
Support sales presentations by assisting with:
- Road kit organization and preparation
- Note-taking during client meetings
- Sample requests and follow-up coordination
Liaise with Client Services and Purchasing Managers to:
- Provide timely order updates
- Approve order details, pricing confirmations, and production authorizations
- Obtain status reports when the Showroom Manager is traveling or off-site
- Over time develop and manage a personal client list through proactive outreach, relationship-building, and sales activity while gaining valuable experience in showroom operations and custom product workflows.
Experience
- Customer service/sales experience - required
- Interior design background - preferred
- Education: Under-graduate degree required
